The Convict
The day wears on…
We set off, sunlight shimmering to shadow through the canopy above. It is quiet; no birdsong serenades us to calm our nerves. Which makes it all the more startling when, several hours into our walk, we hear the piercing whine of an animal in anguish.
It is a wolf, her hind legs caught in a vicious snare. She is as beautiful — terrifying — her snarl as much an indignation as desperation.
Perhaps we should attempt to rescue the poor creature… But would she bite the hand that frees her?
The Conundrum
Should you give the wolf a swift death, let it go, or leave it to die a natural death?
First, the travellers may discuss.
Then, clockwise starting with the Reader, travellers may take it in turns to vote whether to KILL THE WOLF, LET IT GO, or LEAVE IT BE.
