The Courier
Shaking our heads, we advise the driver to drive on. She nods gravely. “And have you any mail for the coach?”
The first traveller to advise the Courier to pass on must discard an Item. If they cannot, the next traveller clockwise to advise the Courier to pass on must discard an Item — and so on.
When a traveller discards an Item, that traveller wins the Bargain of the Courier.
HELP FROM AN ITEM
If any traveller carries a LETTER, they may call “Delivery!” at any time. The Courier takes the letter, which is discarded, and gives their Bargain to that traveller instead.
If no traveller who advised the Courier to pass on possesses an Item to give to the coach, and nobody holds a letter to give instead, then the party suffers the Curse of the Courier. Place the Curse in an area of the table designated for Curses where everyone can see it. If this is the party’s third Curse, click here.

Turning her hat, the black-eyed phantom clicks the horses on. We watch the mail coach disappear over the ridge. The sound of hooves dies to silence.
