The Devoted
Before the gathered congregation, we swear oaths of fealty to one another. The roar of a gong fills the air. When it fades, the congregation is gone — but the smell of incense lingers as we walk once more from the great hall.
The first traveller to devote themselves to another gains the Devoted’s Bargain.
Meanwhile, the traveller who gained the most followers becomes the party’s Idol. They gain brief, godlike powers. The Idol must immediately do one of the following things:
Choose any one Blessing owned by any traveller and convert it into a Bargain for that traveller.
Choose any one Bargain owned by any traveller and convert it into a Blessing for that traveller.
Take a Blessing or Bargain from one traveller and gift it to another traveller (not themselves).
HELP FROM AN ITEM
If any traveller that followed the Idol carries a LANTERN, they may claim the Devoted’s Bargain instead. If the Idol carries a lantern, the Idol may nominate a second Idol, to whom the same powers are granted.
