Night falls…
As darkness descends, we make camp and light our fire. The long journey has taken its toll; we are tired, and speak little before retreating to our beds between the rocks.
But the Elder Wood’s thrall is not so easily escaped. As we drift in dream, we find ourselves walking among silvered trees, phantom dream-shapes of a phantom Wood. We see that our fellow travellers move beside us. But in this vision-dream, our companions seem… changed.
The magic of the Wood offers the party a peek into their companions’ hearts and minds. The visions of the dream reveal not your travellers' outer appearances, but the secret selves they hide within.
Clockwise starting with the traveller to the Reader’s left, each traveller takes it in turns to describe how their own character appears to their companions in the Wood’s vision.
Your description should represent the way your character sees themselves in their deepest heart of hearts. Your imagery can be obvious or symbolic, but it must be revealing of your character’s self-identity.

One player’s traveller is a vampire who normally looks like a well-dressed count. However, though he tries to conceal his true identity, the vampire is deeply ashamed of his inner blood-cravings, viewing himself as little more than a beast. In the vision, the player describes their traveller as a vile, blood-sucking beast.
When everyone has spoken, continue below.

A light flares in the trees ahead. A great creature moves towards us from among the branches. No — not a creature. A demon. His limbs are voids of deepest darkness, His eyes a flashing fire that threatens to burn us whole. We are filled with an unearthly terror. As the Lord of the Wood reaches His great hand towards us —
We wake. We lie once more in our beds, the sky above us ruddy with dawn. But as we gather our packs and push on, the phantasms linger in our memory, revelations not quickly forgotten.
