At last, the ground rises; the temperature drops. The trees lengthen, becoming taller, as stretched and thin as the air we now breathe. Soon we stand below a vast valley of shattered rocks, walled by mountains.

We have passed the Mire. Now we enter the final part of our journey: the Gorge.
