The Groom
A faint cough sounds behind us. We turn to see that a figure has appeared beside the church altar: a young woman in beautiful pale dress, a smile on her face.
Quickly, the young man straightens, his face ablaze with sudden hope. “Oh! My love! But… I did not come to you! And I have no bride price to offer you!”
The bride smiles indulgently. “Do you think that I love you for gems and gold? It is no matter. The Wood shall marry us, and we shall be one.”
Clasping one another and speaking silent vows, they kiss. As their phantom lips meet, there is a distant sound of bells — the faintest glimmer of petals in the air. Then the happy couple is gone, and the church is empty once more.
Congratulations! After centuries apart, you have united the Bride and Groom!
The traveller who previously carried the Bride now wins the Blessing of both the Bride and Groom. If the Bride was a Bargain before, her card becomes a Blessing.
