The Sacrifice

The day wears on…

We work up an appetite pushing through the Thicket’s endless growth. It is near dusk when we finally stumble upon a glade. In its centre, a lone lamb bleats forlornly; it has lost its mother.

As we gaze upon the pure white animal, our stomachs rumble. Roast lamb would make for a tastier supper than the biscuits in our packs. But to slay such a defenceless animal seems a crime in itself.

The Conundrum

Will you give in to temptation and kill the lamb for its meat?

  • The travellers may discuss between themselves.

  • Then, clockwise starting with the Reader, each traveller may state their choice: to SPARE the lamb, or SLAY it.
