The Sacrifice
The day wears on…
We work up an appetite pushing through the Thicket’s endless growth. It is near dusk when we finally stumble upon a glade. In its centre, a lone lamb bleats forlornly; it has lost its mother.
As we gaze upon the pure white animal, our stomachs rumble. Roast lamb would make for a tastier supper than the biscuits in our packs. But to slay such a defenceless animal seems a crime in itself.
The Conundrum
Will you give in to temptation and kill the lamb for its meat?
The travellers may discuss between themselves.
Then, clockwise starting with the Reader, each traveller may state their choice: to SPARE the lamb, or SLAY it.
