The Warden
“Very good,” says the Warden humourlessly. “I will be in touch.”
With a crack of his whip, he sets his prisoners moving once again. The carriage trundles away into the fog.
The first traveller who swore fealty wins the Bargain of the Warden.
HELP FROM AN ITEM
If any traveller who swore fealty carries a LETTER, the Warden mistakes it for a letter of prosecution. The letter-bearing traveller may claim the Warden’s Bargain instead.
If the winning traveller holds any of the following Bargains or Blessings, they must immediately discard them: the Nymph, the Wildman, the Swindler, the Convict, the Hanged Man, the Thief, the Torturer or the Assassin.
